Hastings Lifeboat Station is one of several 'explore' centres that have been opened by the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. The idea is to allow tourists and locals to look around the centre and see how the lifeboat service works. A completely voluntarily funded group the institute operates a gift shop from the centre where visitors can donate to the cause and buy souvenir items to help sea rescue in the future.
