Roger Quilter was one of the finest English composers of his age and was often associated with putting the words of Shakespeare to music. He worked throughout the late 19th Century and early 20th Century attempting to modernise the process of classical composition. He was well regarded by his peers who would often visit him in this grand stately town house on the edge of one of the most exclusive squares in Hove.
