The Royal Hippodrome Theatre first opened its doors to the public in 1883 as the Royal Opera House but soon changed its name to the present title at the beginning of the 20th Century. Since it opened the theatre has been committed to showing a great selection of theatre, entertainment, music and comedy on its old stage throughout the year.
