The Museum of Rural Life was founded in 1973 by Mr and Mrs Henry Jackson and in 1984 was handed into the control of a charitable trust to maintain the upkeep of the collection. The exhibitions within attempt to illustrate the changes that have taken place to rural life and rural people between 1750 and 1960. Areas covered include domestic and farm life, and many reconstructed buildings help to illustrate this.
