I once set my heart on walking the Saxon Shore Way, after all it's only around 160 miles around the coast to Rye in Sussex. A much wiser person, my wife, soon told me not to be such a fool. I have, however, walked most of it in bite size portions mind. Gravesend, is where the path traditionally starts and will take you off into the bleak beauty of the North Kent marshes with its wonderful fauna and flora.
