Beer brewing has taken place in the historic market town of Faversham for over 850 years and the independent family owned Shepherd Neame brewery continues the tradition to this day. Shepherd Neame is today Britain’s oldest beer brewer. The brewery in the heart of Faversham holds regular tours of the facilities. A refurbished Visitor Centre allows tourists to learn about the beer making process before seeing and smelling the process in action on the tour.
