Sir Hamilton Harty was an accomplished composer, musician and conductor. He was well known for the unique Irish sound his compositions had. He lived in this house around the turn of the 20th Century and spent a great deal of his time in London as well. He was considered o be one of the best pianists in the country when he finally retired from his profession and decided to live by the sea full time.
