This museum has such an extensive collection that it has to rotate its permanent displays in order for the public to see everything that it has to offer. Following the routes of the area from Saxon times, the collection is made up of a great deal of diverse and interesting artefacts and documents. Highlights of the museum include some exceptional illuminated maps of the area and archaeological pieces of Saxon and Roman origin.
