Wrotham’s parish church, one of the first in the country to be dedicated to St George, has stood here since 960, before St George was even the patron saint of England. Built entirely out of local materials, it is famous for having one of the oldest working church clocks in the UK and for the variety of tunes produced by its six bells. Many visitors undertake the climb to the roof, via a narrow stone spiral staircase, to enjoy the spectacular views of the local countryside.
