This church was built in several stages. The oldest part is late Saxon while, in 1160, Norman pillars were built by creating a north aisle. The Lady Chapel was added in the 13th Century but was left derelict following a fire in the 18th Century only to be restored to the church in the 20th Century. The tower of the church wasn’t built until the 15th Century. The church has an old well that was rediscovered in the 1970s – it was used by the people of the village until 1750. Inside the church is one medieval tile which is the only remains of the original flooring.
