St Martha’s Church is located on a hill not far from Guildford and is a popular landmark with walkers as it is surrounded by the Surrey North Downs and has many guided footpaths leading to it including the Pilgrims’ Way and the North Downs Way. Some of the church dates back to the 12th Century but it was extensively restored in the Victorian era. The church is especially pretty at Christmas as it is floodlit in the evenings.
