St Mary the Virgin Church, or otherwise known as Chalk Church, on the outskirts of Gravesend is a beautiful 11th Century church. St Mary the Virgin Church has over the centuries been added to with a 12th Century north aisle and a massive square 15th Century tower. Further changes were made by the Victorians before the church fell into disrepair. A great deal of restoration was made in the 1950s. Today the church holds regular religious services.
