The decision to build St Nicholas Church in Saltdean in East Sussex was taken on the 13th October 1947 when a parcel of land to the north of Saltdean Oval Park was purchased for the purpose. Almost four years later on the 21st April 1951 the foundation was laid for the church. Over the coming decades the church has become an integral part of community life in Saltdean and the church hall offers local community groups a meeting place for their organisations to use.
