This tiny church is the result of Henry III’s church reforms during the 13th Century when many noblemen built churches within the boundaries of their own manors. Despite some restoration following the collapse of the nave roof in 1865, many of the Church’s medieval features remain. But it is St Peter and St Paul’s rare 19th Century wall paintings, described as a particularly fine example of Victorian church art, that most visitors come to see, especially ‘Pentecost’ and ‘The Donation of the Keys’.
