St Peter’s Church is one of Brighton’s most significant landmarks as people coming into or leaving the city by the main London road cannot help but pass by it. The church was built due to a shortage of places of worship in Brighton in the nineteenth Century, and its Gothic style is thanks to a man named Charles Barry who won a competition to design the new church. The church has a stained glass window by the panel maker Charles Kempe above the High Altar which is a memorial to Queen Victoria.
