This statue of Queen Victoria towers over the seafront and is one of the central divisions between the town of Hastings and St. Leonards on Sea. Queen Victoria was a big fan of the south coast of England and spent a great deal of her spare time visiting. It was the influence of her reign that developed the British seaside into what we see today, an exhibition of architecture and industrial prowess.
