The Sussex Combined Services Museum was formed in 1976 under the supervision of the Brigadier Edward Caffyn to commemorate the role of Sussex and the people of the county during the Second World War. As a sea bordered county, the museum has a great many artefacts that relate to the Royal Navy, including uniforms, weapons and maritime maps. The old control room from during the war has been reconstructed with intimate detail.
