Charles Maurice de Talleyrand was a French statesman and diplomat, known normally simply as Talleyrand. He worked most of his life as a diplomat for several illustrious King's of France and travelled across the world. He lived for a short time in this fine house at the centre of Brighton which he loved very much. His impact on French foreign affairs was great during his time and he was popular amongst his peers.
