The Artists Quarter has for many years been one of Brighton's central cultural attractions. Based primarily in old fishing arches under the lower promenade close to Brighton beach many artists have built their studios in and around the area. Many of the studios are open to the public to look around and watch the artists at work. A great many of the artists work out on the promenade on a sunny day and offer personalised faculties such as portrait work to passing tourists.
