Hastings Fish Market has been an institutional part of the town for many centuries. Because of its coastal location, Hastings has been inseparable from maritime affairs from the very beginning. Many of the townspeople have worked in the fishing industry or still do. The historic fish market is still functional and attracts a huge amount of visitors during the day.
