For such a small village as Rottingdean, it is refreshing to discover that the community takes a great pride in its history and its association with many famous former residents, details of which can be found at The Grange. The Grange is Rottingdean’s museum and art gallery housed in a grand Georgian townhouse, which itself has a notable history having been given its appearance by the Reverend Thomas Hooker and with a number of later alterations carried out by the noted Victorian architect Sir Edward Lutyens.
