Inside Rochester Guildhall there’s a fine Victorian interior and a fascinating museum. Museum highlights include a full-size replica of a Medway prison hulk, a 200,000 year-old axe, Roman artefacts from Darenth Roman Villa, a model of the siege of Rochester Castle and the Dickens Discovery Room. In the Guildhall itself, there are elaborate plaster ceilings and, outside, a beautiful gilded copper and lead weather vane. Artists exhibited here include Charles Spencelayh and Benjamin Seaton.
