King's is one of the oldest schools in England, with a history going back to the 16th century at least, and probably much further. Christopher Marlowe is just one of its many famous former pupils, and a house is named after him. The school’s historic buildings can be seem throughout the city, particularly within the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral. During King's Week many of them open to parents and visitors for a unique and popular festival of drama, art and music.
