The Watts Chapel was designed and built by Mary Watts, the wife of the artist G F Watts. It is an intricately ornate building from the outside and a wonder from the inside as Mary Watts was a pioneer of the popular Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The chapel is a mixture of art nouveau, Romanesque and Celtic with the unmistakable underlying influence of Arts and Crafts. It is a must for any art enthusiast as its originality is astounding.
