This fine statue depicts one of Britain's greatest queens, Victoria, Empress of India. Victoria's influence on Britain and the world was massive during her long reign. She oversaw the expansion of the British Empire and the industrial revolution. It was at seaside resorts such as Brighton and Hove that the Victorians displayed their architectural prowess by building huge hotels along the beach front and piers that stretched miles out to sea.
