Wallington War Memorial is located at the main crossroads on the edge of Wallington. The deliberate placement of the monument means that all who pass in or out of the community see the great debt of gratitude that the local people feel towards those brave soldiers who went off to war from the area during the 20th Century, many of whom never returned. Those brave people acted in the defence of the basic freedoms that we now take for granted.
