Taking pride of place in the centre of the village on the crossroads is Goudhurst War Memorial. The war memorial is a simple grey stone cross on a hexagional base. The monument honours the brave men of the village who went to war in the First World War between 1914 and 1918 but has seen the addition of names of men from Goudhurst who laid down their lives in the defence of Great Britain in the Second World War too.
