The village of Windmill Mill in East Sussex was named after the windmill located on its highest point that still commands the village high ground. Built in 1814 the Grade II listed building is a fine example of the classic post mill used to grind corn into flour. The windmill at Windmill Hill is occasionally open to the public who are encouraged to look out for the distinctive marks left by the original craftsmen and carpenters in the windmills wooden construction.
