The Worthing Museum and Art Gallery opened to the public in 1908 and is housed in a fine Edwardian building of some note at the heart of the community. There is a varied and rich collection of local history on display in the museum, including exhibitions of costumes and textiles dating back to 1600. The art gallery houses an impressive permanent collection, including works from Sir Stanley Spencer, Berenger Benger and Charles Ginner amongst others.
