Abergavenny Museum is situated in an old 19th Century hunting lodge within the grounds of the castle. It houses displays that provide visitors with an insight into the long history of this Welsh market town from the days of the Roman empire through to the present day. There are recreations of a Welsh Victorian farmhouse kitchen and a saddler’s workshop. There are quizzes and workshops available for children. The museum is within close walking distance of a car park and the town centre.
