Built in the 13th Century, Penally Church was originally dedicated to St Nicholas, but is now also dedicated to St Teilo, a contemporary of St David said to have been born at Penally. The plain well proportioned church consists of a nave and north and south transepts. There is a square Norman font and a 13th Century tomb. In St Teilo`s Chapel, in the south transept, are two elaborately carved Celtic crosses. Before being brought into the church, they stood in the churchyard for about 1000 years.
