This delightful country park was once the site of a limestone quarry. Lakes formed after quarrying ceased in 1970 and the quarry spoils were landscaped. A large proportion of the park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and there are conservation areas for birds and rare wild flowers. Many varities of birds can be spotted including swans, ducks, coot, moorhen, buntings and warblers. Facilities include a large car park, visitor centre and picnic areas.
