A large easily accessible forest centre, with picnic sites, a large car park, and even a corral for horses. There are numerous valleys and streams within the forest as well as some excellent vantage points which give panoramic views of the surrounding countyside. The nearest town is Llandovery. Badgers, Roe Deer, Otters, Dormice, possibly Pine martens, Polecats, Hares, Foxes, and Bats are present. The forest is also home to Red Kite, Sparrowhawks, Peregrine, Goshawk, Buzzards, Kestrels, Ravens, WoodCock, Nightjar, Cuckoos, Barn owls, Little Owls, Woodpeckers, Goldcrests, and Warblers and many butterflies.
