This tranquil area in the centre of Ystradgynlais is named after its Bardic stone circle which dominates the centre of the park. A gorsedd is also the name for a gathering of bards (or Welsh poets) which takes place in and around the stone circle. These days it is more common to see children playing among the stones and people relaxing, sunbathing and picnicking here. Plays and concerts are regularly held here during the summer.
