The Gospel Pass has been an important pass through the Vale of Erywas since the time of Iron Age Man.There are many stories about how it came to have this name and all point to the rich religious nature of the area and the sense of spirituality to be found here, which has drawn artists, writers and mystics to make it their home.This pass and the Llanthony Valley were formed during the Ice Age, when Glaciers gouged it out of the sandstone rocks of the area. There are several viewing stations situated along the pass.
