This array of open parkland and fields situated on both sides of the River Ogmore stretches from the town centre nearly all the way to Merthyr Mawr and includes rugby, football and cricket pitches, as well as running tracks and children’s play areas. The main interest within the fields lies just across the wooden bridge - the stone circle. It was placed there in 1947 as the Throne of the Royal National Eisteddfod for Wales and used to mark eisteddfods since then.
