Ogmore-by-Sea has amazing views along the Heritage coast and across the estuary to Merthyr Mawr and Porthcawl, it is a great place for a day out. When the tide is low the beach is wide and sandy but at high tide the area is reduced to sharp rocks. The River Ogmore estuary makes bathing unsafe from part of the beach, but the area is extremely popluar with surfers and windsurfers. The beach looks out to Tusker Rock, a notorious hazard for ships in the past and only visable at low tide. A very busy beach in the summer months, it makes for a great spot for a picnic.

Ogmore-by-Sea beach is a stunning, rugged sweep of coastline overlooking the Bristol Channel. At low tide the beach is wide and sandy but the fast-rising tide leaves only a rocky beach at high-tide. The grassy area by the Car Park is a popular spot for a family picnic. There is a charge for the Car Park, free toilets and often an ice-cream van available.
The path along the coastline towards Dunraven Bay is a particularly pleasant walk.
