Oystermouth Castle was founded by William de Londres in the 12th Century and the tall tower was added in the 14th Century. The castle is Norman in origin although, in present day a closer look will reveal several styles and modern additions to the original building. The castle sits on a small hill and has fantastic views over Mumbles and Swansea Bay. It is a well-preserved and intricate building with plenty of areas to explore. The castle is reported to be haunted by the ’White Lady’, her apparition has been seen to be trudging across the grounds of the castle on many occasions.
