Raglan Castle was built in the 15th Century and is a great monument to the medieval era. Before the present structure was built there was a motte and bailey castle on the site which began to be replaced by William ap Thomas, a Welsh knight who had fought in the Battle of Agincourt. He built the Great Tower of the castle in yellow sandstone and was influenced by a French architectural style. Today visitors can be taken on a guided tour around the castle to discover its fascinating history and witness the views over the Welsh hills from the top.
