Roath Park is probably the best loved of Cardiff’s parks as it offers a wealth of activity for people of all ages. The park is dominated by its beautiful lake which has four small islands that are home to a number of birds including cormorants. There is a lighthouse at one end of the lake which pays homage to Scott of the Antarctic who set off from Cardiff on his final yet miraculous journey. Visitors can take pedal boats and rowing boats out on to the lake which is a popular activity in the summer, there is a beautiful rose garden and the children will love the play area with its long slide.
