Seventy years ago, the painter Augustus John wrote of Tenby: ’You may travel the world over, but you find nothing more beautiful. It is so restful, so colourful, and so unspoilt.’ This remains true today of the long, glorious stretch of firm sand that is Tenby’s South Beach. It never gets crowded even at peak times in high summer. There are no dog restrictions and there is plenty of room for everyone. A beach café sells snacks and toys, and deck chairs can be hired.
