Map
Situated in the picturesque and historic village of Llantwit Major in the Vale of Glamorgan, St Illtyd’s is one of the oldest parish churches in Wales. Indeed, the name of the village is an anglicised version of the Welsh name, Llanilltud Fawr, which means “great church of Illtud”, the saint who is thought to have established a monastery here in the 6th century. The church houses several wall paintings from the middle ages and has an attractive churchyard.
