The church in the little West Wales village of Marros just above Amroth is dedicated to St Lawrence and was probably re-dedicated in Norman times after a much older Welsh church on the site. The tower is of particular interest as it is sturdily built in the architectural style that was common in this area of Wales in the 13th and 14th centuries. On the churchyard wall the initials of parishioners who were responsible for repairs to the church can still be found and there is an unusual war memorial outside the church that was built in the style of the Neolithic tombs at nearby Garness.
