The church of St.Teilo is the centrepiece of the village of Merthyr Mawr, three miles south of Bridgend. St.Teilo was born about 500 AD and was the grandson of King Ceredig of Ceredigion. He worked and travelled with St. David for many years and became the Bishop of Llandeilo. He was considered to be one of the most holy men in Wales. This beautiful church has been, like many churches, extensively modified in Victorian times.
