Wandering around Salisbury you notice how many of its old timber-framed buildings survive. This one stands at the junction of Silver and Minster Streets, facing the Poultry Cross. This area was part of the Market Square when the city was first laid out, but by the 15th Century a row of stalls had been replaced by permanent shops with dwellings above. According to a plaque on the wall, this one was built in 1428.
