This Victorian folly stands on the edge of the award-winning sands of Ryde beach. It is now home to a small crystal and rune shop, and visitors can climb to the top of the tower for stunning views across the solent. Behind the tower is a plaque commemorating the 200th anniversary of the first European landing in Mosman, Australia; the First Fleet having anchored just off shore of Appley before setting sail.
