Run entirely by volunteers, this museum aims to preserve and make available to the public operational examples of historic aircraft. Exhibits include a Hunter Fury, Mig 17 Fighter, Gnat T1 and a Wessex helicopter. A Vanguard simulator has been fitted with an audio/system and plans are under way to restore control and instrument functions for the public to use. The gift shop stocks an extensive range of model making kits. Cameras are permitted and as the museum is right next to Bournemouth Airport’s main runway great photographic opportunities exist.
