Purchased by local residents and given to the National Trust for conservation in 1934, Cock Marsh is one of the best lowland wetland sites in the country. It is noted as an important breeding ground for wading birds and is home to an outstanding selection of rare flora and forna. Some Bronze Age bowl barrows are still visible on the marshland amongst the attractive environment.
