Here is one of the hidden pleasures of Salisbury. From Queen Street a Georgian façade frames the entrance, but far older history lies within. The modern shopping precinct was created around the former inn yard of the Plume of Feathers. It incorporates the crooked Jacobean staircase which once led to a first floor gallery around the yard. The Cross Keys Restaurant is housed in a medieval timber-framed building which once stood on the north side of the courtyard.
