Situated just outside the centre of the charming Oxfordshire village of Deddington amongst beautiful countryside and woodland, this English Heritage site is home to extensive earthworks that once formed the foundations of a motte and bailey castle. Dated to the 11th Century, the castle would once have been an important stronghold, defending the road into Oxford against raiders.
